WHAT WORKOUT CLASS IS FOR YOU?

At Thrive Fitness Hout Bay, we have built our workout classes around flexibility and – more important – around variety.  We understand that many people get bored with workouts, and so we’ve put together a plethora of fabulous and exciting workout classes to bring you some seriously fun fitness.

But, still, you ask yourself, what workout is for me?

Well, we hope, after reading this, that you’ll have a better understanding of what’s on offer and what suits you best.  It is important to note though, that no matter what fitness level you’re at, ALL OUR CLASSES are open to you.  You simply work at your pace.

BEGINNERS WORKOUT CLASSES

(You’ve just started with an exercise regime and not quite able to run a full kilometre without walking.  You want to ease yourself into things still.)

The classes to go for are:

Wednesday WOTM

WOTM = Work On The Minute

You will get 16 exercises repeated over 2 rounds and they will change every 1 minute.  The exercise will be either based on the number of reps, time-based (i.e. 1 minute) or calories per station.

So, expect a full class time of around 32 minutes.

Loads of fun and before you know it, the class will be over!

Saturday Shred

A full-body, isolation approach with some old-school moves you thought you had forgotten.

Expect a mix of upper and lower body moves with a dash of core and a spike of cardio.

16 Exercises – 2 Rounds = 32 minutes

Prepare for some seriously fun fitness!

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED WORKOUT CLASSES

(You’ve either been exercising for a while now (-/+ 3-5 months) and feel that your fitness levels have picked up – you’re excited to try more – OR you’re a seasoned exerciser and up for pushing your limits.  You scream, “Give me more!” when the trainer says 5 minutes left.)

The classes to go for are:

Monday MakeitCount

We understand Mondays can be rough, so this class is built to help you set the bench-mark for the week.

You get 16 exercises – 2 rounds – 45 seconds on and 15 seconds breather – a mix of rep counts and calorie burns.

A 32-minute class that will have you revving to go for the week to come!

Tuesday Tabata

HIIT – High-Intensity-Interval-Training

The best way to lose weight, get fit and build necessary muscle is to do our HIIT-inspired class.

We will get your heart rate up and then bring it down gently – and then up – and then down – get the picture?

Expect 20 seconds of workout and 10 seconds of rest – repeat – rinse – repeat x 4 and 2 rounds.  32 minutes later, you will KNOW you had a workout!

Thursday Throwdown

This boxing-inspired class includes jabbing, hooking, punching and side-stepping like a pro.

16 exercises – 2 rounds – for a total of 50 minutes of sweaty fun.

And, don’t worry if you are a boxing newbie, we will show you all the punches in the warmup.

Get ready to Thursday Throwdown!

Friday Get Freaky

End your week on a high with a 4 exercise multiple rounds workout – AND … a surprise 5th exercise just to get your blood flowing proper!

50 seconds on and 10 seconds rest will see you calling for a cold one before the class is done!

Turf

Taking it to the Turf outside!

This class gets you breathing fresh air and enjoying the outdoors whilst getting a full-body workout using our top-notch apparatus outside.

Take your training up a notch – take it to The Turf!

How often should you exercise for a week?

Rule of thumb is –

Beginners – 2 classes a week

Intermediate – 3-4 classes a week

Advanced – 5-6 classes a week
