5 REASONS GROUP TRAINING IS BENEFICIAL

Exercise is tough!  There’s no doubt about that.  If it was as easy as 1-2-3, everyone would be doing it – but they’re not!  However, the benefits of including at least 30-minutes of high and low-intensity exercise into your daily routine are insurmountable.  Want to know what makes exercise easier? – GROUP TRAINING!  There’s a reason why the gym industry is coining over R12 billion in revenue every year – and what do most of the gyms incorporate?  GROUP TRAINING!  Are you seeing the pattern here?

WHY IS GROUP TRAINING GOOD FOR YOU?

REASON #1 – ACCOUNTABLE PARTNERS

Knowing that your gym buddies are expecting you to rock up and train, is often motivation enough to get up and out there.  The members in group training hold each other accountable.  And, come rain or shine, they will rally together to ensure everyone gets to the session on time.

REASON #2 – COMPETITIVE NATURES

We are, all of us, competitive in some way or another.  Just watch the participants at your next group session.  How they watch each other, see how many reps everyone is doing, how fast they are going, and whether they can do it better and faster.  This sort of competitive nature is good as it pushes us to do better each time, thereby increasing our fitness and endurance levels.

REASON #3 – ROUTINE

As children, we are taught that a routine is good and you will find that most people thrive on having a regular regime, whether it’s to do with work, sport, eating or gym.  With group fitness training, there are set times every day which enable you to plan your day, your week and your month, leaving you no excuse not to fit the sessions in.

REASON #4 – VARIETY

Boredom is the biggest killer of all training goals!  However, when you have choices in group sessions, such as yoga, HIIT, Box, Tabata, etc. you will never get bored.  Besides the varied types of group sessions, you will meet the most interesting people too.

REASON #5 – MAGIC MOTIVATION

We all need that little push and motivation to keep going, and the people within a group will encourage and lift each other up.  In those tough weeks when stress and general life seems to take over, they will rally together.
